ELECTRICAL ENERGY
Solar energy is vital to our sustainability strategy. We constantly adopt various measures to reduce energy consumption.
We currently have two operational photovoltaic parks on our premises: Azurém and Fermentões, with more than 1,700 solar panels and still in the process of implementing 1,400 new panels. With this initiative, we have managed to reduce CO2 emissions and, at the same time, preserve biodiversity.

Water
As water is an essential resource for our industry, we have implemented a series of procedures and mechanisms to avoid waste and promote its reuse, including:
Use of rainwater.
Recovery of condensate from the steam line, used to heat water in the production process.
Recovery of the water used to cool the equipment installed in the machines.
Reducing water consumption in continuous machines through intelligent software that adapts the machine to the different fabrics.
Caustic soda reclaimer
We are constantly committed to reducing its consumption of chemical products. To this end, we have a modern central plant that allows caustic soda to be reused. This process consists of evaporating the water added during the production process, allowing it to be reused.
In recent years, we have managed to process more than twice as much fabric with the same amount of caustic soda, thus reducing the consumption of virgin caustic soda by 60%.
Biomass Boiler
Reducing the consumption of fossil fuels such as natural gas is essential for environmental sustainability. That’s why we have a leading-edge biomass boiler that makes a major contribution to your environmental sustainability.
